Leak detection, directional drilling, and unblocked drains
Serving the Greater Auckland Area
Hydro jetting for blocked drains across Auckland
When a drain blockage cannot be effectively cleared with conventional methods, high-pressure drain jetting provides a powerful way to remove built-up material from inside the pipe.
Leak Solutions uses specialist hydro jetting equipment to send high-pressure water through the drainage system, breaking up and flushing away grease, sludge, debris and other obstructions that can restrict flow.
With professional drain jetting, you can:
Clear stubborn blockages and restore drainage flow to sinks, toilets, showers and outside drains
Remove built-up grease, sludge and debris from inside pipes
Clean a greater section of the drain rather than simply opening a path through the blockage
Clear tree roots and root intrusion using specialist root cutting heads
Combine jetting with CCTV inspection to investigate recurring drainage problems

How high-pressure drain jetting works
Drain jetting, also known as hydro jetting or water jetting, uses specialist equipment to deliver high-pressure water through the drainage pipe. Different jetting nozzles can be used to direct water through the drain, breaking up obstructions and flushing loosened material through the system.
Unlike a drain snake, which may create a path through a localised blockage, drain jetting can also remove material coating the inside of the pipe. This makes it particularly useful where grease, sludge and other deposits have gradually reduced the internal diameter of the drain.
The appropriate method depends on the condition of the drainage system and the cause of the blockage. Where we need to understand what is happening inside the pipe first, we can use a CCTV drain inspection to investigate the problem before deciding how best to clear it.
When drain jetting may be the right solution
High-pressure drain jetting can be effective for a range of drainage problems, particularly where there is significant build-up or a blockage keeps returning.
It may be suitable for:
Grease and fat build-up
Sludge and accumulated debris
Silt and sediment
Some root intrusion
Recurring or slow-flowing drains
Blockages that have not been fully cleared using drain snaking
Jetting is not automatically the right answer for every blocked drain. Damaged, collapsed or badly displaced pipes may require repair rather than repeated cleaning. If there are signs of an underlying pipe problem, we can inspect the drain and explain the options before further work proceeds.
Get to the cause of recurring blocked drains
Clearing the blockage restores flow, but if a drain repeatedly blocks, it is worth understanding why.
Leak Solutions can combine drain jetting with CCTV drain inspection to examine the inside of the drainage line and look for problems such as root intrusion, damaged pipework, displaced joints or objects caught within the drain.

Frequently asked questions
Drain snaking uses a mechanical cable or tool to break through or remove a blockage. It can work well for localised obstructions.
Drain jetting uses high-pressure water to break up material and flush it through the drainage system. Because the water also cleans the internal pipe surface, it can be particularly useful where grease, sludge or accumulated debris is contributing to the blockage.
High-pressure drain jetting can remove or cut through some root intrusion, depending on the severity of the problem and the equipment required.
However, roots entering a drain are often a sign of a damaged joint or pipe. If roots are causing recurring blockages, we may recommend a CCTV drain inspection to determine where they are entering and whether repair work should be considered.
Not necessarily. The condition and construction of the pipe need to be considered before high-pressure jetting is used.
Where there is concern about pipe condition or a blockage keeps returning, CCTV inspection can help determine what is happening inside the drain and whether jetting, another clearing method or repair work is the appropriate next step.
